Winter always puts me in the mood to do things at home, to make up for the summer months when I tend to ignore the ‘home making’ part of homemaking. One of the things I have tried the past few years is putting together a list of new recipes to try. Last year it involved going through all the recipes I’ve saved from various places, paper ones that is, and finally trying them. This year I think I am going to focus more on the crock pot.
I only bought a few things during Black Friday sales, one of them being a 6 qt slow cooker. After looking all summer at garage sales and second hand stores, I had no luck finding one used. However, I didn’t want to pay $30 for one. When one of the stores nearby included a 6 qt slow cooker in their Black Friday sales for just under $10, I decided my time and gas was worth more than that and I took the plunge to buy a new one. I’m looking forward to using it next week to try a new recipe, for rolls, my husband asked me to make two months ago. However, two months ago I didn’t have the right sized crock pot and didn’t know if I could adjust the recipe. Now I do!
My favorite site to find crock pot recipes is Crockpot365.com.
Here is the list of recipes from her site that I am looking forward to trying:
We’ll stop at 10 recipes, though I’m sure there are many more I would like to try.
What are some of your favorite slow cooker recipes?
