What a week

Yes, I am still here.  I know I have been MIA this week.  I was taking part in Blogelina’s 100 Comments Event.  My brain hurts.  Really.  It was 137 blogs in 8 days.  Yes, that is only 17 per day, but I was not here over the weekend.  Then there were two days were I was gone in the afternoons.  Add in supper, laundry, dishes, trips to the park to enjoy the nice weather …. well, you get the idea.  In the end I did 137 blogs in about 5 or 6 days.   That comes out to 27.4 or 22.83 blogs per day.  Considering I may check 2 or 3 each day, that was a huge increase.  Then leaving comments on them, well, it was quite the commitment for which I had not truly considered the time it would take.  Hmm.  Didn’t I just write about that? Yup.  Here it is.  I’m a slow learner apparently.  If I had thought about it, did the math, and checked my calendar I would have seen that this was not the week for it.  However, it is done, so I’m moving on.

I have survived this week, for which I am grateful.  The pellets still need to be expanded or purchased, I have not quite finished reading my book, scones have not been made, porch has not been cleared off and the monthly menu plan has not been created.  We have been having meals out of the freezer or pantry, which really is a good thing.  I found a frozen meal from September.  It was one of those items that I always saw when I opened the freezer and though, “Oh, yeah. I put that in a month or two ago.  That should be a meal soon.”  Then the freezer was promptly closed.  If you are any decent at math you will realize that the “month or two ago” was actually 6 months ago.  Thankfully, it made a great supper over brown rice earlier this week.  I also reorganized all the cereal boxes we have – adding the expiration dates in permanent marker on both the top and side of the boxes.  Then I put them back in order of expiration dates.  The earlier ones are in the more accessible location, with the rest being up into higher storage.  The hope is to eat up the oldest first and work our way through them.  This has been one of those things that annoyed me when I opened the cabinet.  Every. Single. Time.  So, the scones didn’t get made but the cereal is now organized.

I am hoping to be back on track tomorrow.  It shouldn’t be that hard to do a general clean-up, followed by a strategic decluttering, then perhaps some scones or even better ….

There are some tomato seeds just waiting to be loved upon by some soil and water.  I think there is even egg plant, but as it is unseemingly past my bedtime, my brain isn’t really  working right now to think if those are “6-weeks before last frost” or “4 weeks before last frost” seeds.  I’m thinking the former.

My immediate future involves me mimicing the following, of which I fully plan to enjoy ….
